Antonio Cossa

Antonio Cossa je nezávislý fotožurnalista původem z Mosambiku, dlouhodobě žijící v Praze. Od roku 2004 působí jako dokumentární fotograf, spolupracoval s institucemi, jako jsou British Council a UNICEF. Specializuje se na válečné konflikty a uprchlické krize na Blízkém východě a v Africe; dokumentoval uprchlickou krizi na řecko-turecké hranici, situaci Rohingů v Bangladéši, prodemokratické protesty v Hongkongu i dopady klimatické změny v Mosambiku po cyklonu Idai. Od počátku války na Ukrajině je oficiálně akreditovaným válečným fotožurnalistou ukrajinského ministerstva obrany. Od roku 2023 se věnuje fotodokumentaci života osob s albinismem v Africe v rámci projektu Born Different. Je také portrétním fotografem, na svých snímcích zachytil řadu významných osobností světové politiky a kultury (Václav Havel, Nelson Mandela, dalajláma, Jean Reno a Johnny Depp). Jeho profesní portfolio zahrnuje desítky výstav po celém světě a také přednášky a workshopy pro studenty i širokou veřejnost.

Antonio Cossa is an independent photojournalist originally from Mozambique who has lived in Prague for many years. Since 2004, he has worked as a documentary photographer and has collaborated with organisations including the British Council and UNICEF. He specialises in documenting armed conflicts and refugee crises in the Middle East and Africa. His work has covered the refugee crisis at the Greek–Turkish border, the persecution of the Rohingya in Bangladesh, the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong, and the impact of Cyclone Idai and climate change in Mozambique. Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, he has been officially accredited as a war photojournalist by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence. Since 2023, he has been documenting the lives of people with albinism in Africa as part of the Born Different project. He is also an accomplished portrait photographer whose subjects include prominent figures from politics and culture, such as Václav Havel, Nelson Mandela, Dalai Lama, Jean Reno, and Johnny Depp. His professional portfolio includes dozens of exhibitions around the world, as well as lectures and workshops for students and the wider public.
